Per celebrare il 30° anniversario dello storico album “DAYDREAM” (Sony Music) di MARIAH CAREY è disponibile in digitale la nuova versione “DAYDREAM: 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION“ (https://mariahcarey.lnk.to/UTSRemix).

Questa edizione anniversario include brani inediti, pezzi molto amati dal pubblico, esibizioni dal vivo, remix classici e una nuova versione remix di “Underneath the Stars“, prodotta da Eric Kupper. Inoltre, per la prima volta, vengono pubblicati rari demo estratti delle sessioni originali di composizione di Mariah Carey di “Melt Away“, scritta e prodotta insieme a Babyface, e “I Am Free“, scritta e prodotta insieme a Walter Afanasieff.

Il 16 ottobre “Daydream: 30th Anniversary Edition” uscirà anche in formato fisico, in triplo LP, doppio CD e musicassetta.

La versione in vinile da 3 LP includerà per la prima volta l’intero concerto Live at Madison Square Garden 1995. La raccolta comprenderà inoltre brani mai pubblicati prima, che usciranno per la prima volta in vinile.

Il doppio CD e la versione digitale deluxe includeranno versioni inedite di “Always Be My Baby” e “Open Arms“, registrate durante la tappa del Daydream Tour a Rotterdam il 17 giugno 1996.

Pubblicato originariamente il 3 ottobre 1995 da Columbia Records, “Daydream” è considerato uno degli album di maggior successo di pubblico e di critica. L’album, contenente numerose hit internazionali, ha debuttato al #1 della classifica Billboard 200 e ha venduto oltre 27 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo.

“Fantasy” è passato alla storia come la prima canzone di un’artista donna a entrare direttamente al #1 della Billboard Hot 100. Anche “One Sweet Day“, frutto della collaborazione tra Mariah Carey e Boyz II Men, debuttò al #1 e rimase in vetta alla classifica per un record di 16 settimane consecutive. Anche “Always Be My Baby” raggiunse il #1.

L’uscita anniversario è inoltre accompagnata dall’inedito documentario “MAKING OF FANTASY“, uno sguardo intimo dietro nel backstage del videoclip di uno dei singoli più venduti di sempre, diretto dalla stessa Mariah Carey. Il filmato mostra la creazione dell’iconico video di “Fantasy“, offrendo al pubblico una rara e personale visione di un momento fondamentale della storia della musica pop.

Lunedì 20 luglio alle ore 10:00 (ET) “Making of Fantasy” sarà presentato in anteprima sul canale YouTube di Mariah Carey.

“Daydream” è stato certificato 11 volte multiplatino dalla Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). A conferma della duratura eredità commerciale dell’album, la RIAA ha assegnato nuove certificazioni a due dei suoi singoli più celebri: “Fantasy” è 8 volte multiplatino, mentre “Always Be My Baby” è stato certificato 7 volte multiplatino.
